Surebrake pads

Im guessing these are fitted to the e92 325i?

can supply Textar for this at R 625 a set Textar is OEM so why bother with a pad that pay or may not work as intended

have resupplied many customers who have tried surebrake from other suppliers and were not happy so would advise to rather stay away from this pad

+1 I was recently hunting for Textar rear pads for my E85 Z4 3.0si and couldnt find them anywhere settled for ATE. Next time will contact you guys

I only shake my head when people say there's less brake dust on the cheaper pads. You guys do realise that means the pads are harder? And what happens when the pads are harder? Yes Kimosabe, the disks get hotter, which leads to cementite forming in the metal of the disk, that leads to glazing of the disk.

Once that happens, you'll pick up vibration coming from the disks when braking, resulting in warping and uneven grip, thus disks being replaced as well.

Pay a little more for the better pads. Saving R2/3/400 on a set of pads is false economy in the long run. It's not like you have to replace these every second month...

The surebrake pads are ok for normal daily driving, but don't expect much out of them when putting them through some spirited runs.

I much rather prefer Metelli pads.

I am thinking of putting Metelli on my F30 330D. Would u thinks it's a good move?

Sorry to hijack, but it is brake related. Goldwagen stock Febi discs. Am I right that Febi is an OE brand and worth the buy? At R1800 a disc it seems like a good deal for a good product.

I wouldn't go for Febi discs, Meyle PD or Surebrake would be my choice.

I've had shit experiences with Febi parts on a number of occasions, so have a few friends and family members, hence my recommendation.

I edited my post for context.

I'm not sure if they from the same factory, but they are from the same group of companies but quality wildly differs.

Maybe give it a shot and share your experience? I'm just off them in general.

I agree with using Surebrake discs, bought a set when I did the 330i brake upgrade and they've held up really well considering I've done a lot of normal driving, mountain passes and 5 trackdays using an aggressive race pad.

On certain parts, discs, water bottles, etc. I would steer away from Febi.

When buying from Goldwagen, request other OE name brands.

Ok just fwiw - Surebrake at Goldwagen is actually R80 cheaper per disc so that makes it easy. Thanks again guys!

Just FYI
FEBI is the OE for e46 Guibo/flex discs

Ive compared the factory one that was rermoved to the febi and they were identical down to the letters stamped on them with the only difference being the bmw logo rubbed off

After having paid 8K For rear brake pads and disks at the beginning of the year at ABM, i cant do the same again for the fronts.

My Indie quoted me on Febi pads an disks and said they are good.

Has anyone tried them?

I have used Febi brake pads and there was nothing untoward. Never used their discs though.

Its soft compound, does make a lot of brake dust which I don’t mind as it means not eating into disc. No squeals which is a big plus.

Brake performance was okay. I had BMW pads upfront, difficult to tell

How the heck did they arrive at R8k?

I previously asked on this forum about Febi brake discs at Goldwagen and most responses said I must rather go for surebrake discs. Goldwagen also stock them at R1750 a disc (rear though).
