How much time do you/your folks have?

To me it’s not even a case of whether they will refund the deposit (they have to), but rather not letting them get away with screwing you out of the car you wanted and paid the deposit for on some cretinous excuse because the sleazeball smous found a sucker who will not jeopardise his R250 commission.

I’d take this up the foodchain at WBC as well as the usual barrage of complaints on the platforms they advertise on.

Quite time restraint at the moment. We were very patient with WBC in the beginning. We had interest in the car and began the whole process with all the relevant parties since the 20th Sep. The car went onto the showroom on the 17th. So basically WBC has been screwing us around for more than 2 weeks now. They couldn't even send the invoice of the car to the bank for more than a week now. So we are just so dumbfounded at this. The bank, BMW and us.

It seems now looking at the messages. The WBC's WhatsApp seems to be disappearing. Could only go back to the 28th on one screenshot, and in the app in the 2nd Oct...at least emails are still present, so should be fine. Ridiculous.

Check if they have disappearing messages auto-turned-on

You can turn it off to preserve what's there

Dealerships must get very good kick backs from each Warranty they sell.

Every car i have bought or applied finance on the they loaded much warranties as they can.

I almost bought a car from Audi East rand recently, after asking them to resend me the application for a second time because they kept loading the warranty on, and trying to convince me its necessary for my own good, they even ended up offering it at no cost to me, thats how much it means to them, or how much they get from each one they push.

Yeah. Standard Bank already captured the car details and pre-approved everything. Asked WBC for the invoice as they acknowledged the BMW warranty. WBC keeps delaying, and wanting us to buy their warranty as BMW not clear. That BMW has a 30-day activation period which is a risk to them. But the car was sent to BMW and checked, and they pre-approved it, and service is up to day on it. Now they removed our reservation because it was reserved for too long. No, they delayed it. Delayed it, and that someone else wants to buy it. Now if they sell the car to someone else, and we didn't our deposit. Problems problems...

Write to whoever as high up at WBC you can go, Go the hello peter, social media route if need be. You will see how quickly you will get the deposit back. I am of the opinion if a deal has this much headaches before you get the car, its not meant to be. Too many signs pushing your parents from this deal.

Get your deposit back and shop for a different car.

WBC is not a customer experience place, it's a wham bam thank you mam kinda place.

What location is giving you this much shit? Either way the deposit is yours, they failed to honor it. Get HQ involved immediately.

Immediately take it up with HQ.
Folks went to WBC. Going to see how that goes. Branch manager during intial discussions at the time didn't give bat and eye during the negotiations. WBC was even late to bring the car to BMW for the warranty assessment as they quoted, they had a morning staff meeting. Despite us booking with BMW a day in advance for WBC to get organised. Yeah, will see. Maybe WBC comes back to try sell the car to us, but all this unnecessary kak. Haibo, everything pre-approved and details captured before.

When I phoned customer support yesterday, they like hang up on us. So going to see if we can write an email, if that will ever get answered. Folks will let family know the outcome later today. Skelms can't go running with our deposit.
