BimmerCode app

Car is out of plan now, but has an extended warranty cover through BMW. I want to code carplay full screen and the start/stop to remember last setting. Any thoughts on doing it now? I wouldn't think putting the computer on the car for a service etc. will show that or am I wrong?

I’ve done this on the F15 and it’s still on plan and been in multiple times since and currently in for a couple of motorplan claims, no issues whatsoever regarding the coding.

Also try the protool app. Can do a lot more coding through there. I use to code VO and FA via laptop the long way but protool has simplified my life. Android required. You can code E/F/G/I series.

I use bimmercode for quick stuff and bimmerlink to monitor the car on drives.

Super thank you, that's good to know!

Hi
ive used it for a few things on my F30, pretty cool. also its a once of payment so you can always use it again, ive done the M splash logo on start up , the M performance logo in the cluster, Red sport dials, Rolls royce/MINI chimes etc

Hi Momo1. Where you able to code the mirrors to fold in?

Anyone using bimmercode using a wired connection such as Enet cable?
I see lots of recommendations for the Vgate option, but feel I have more faith in a wired solution [ELM327] can be super temperamental.

Any suggestions would be great. Would use it primarily for Bimmercode.
Hi Morriebiscuit. How is the difference from the F30 330d to now, the m340i

Hi rchapti. How much is the protool licence?

You cant code things for which the hardware is not present.

Does your car have folding mirrors (and the associated button) ?
Hi Riaad. I dont know how to check if the hardware is present and im also not sure about the folding button.

1. Go to the car
2. Open the door
3. Look at mirror controls
4. Look for button that opens/closes the mirrors

Hope this helps bud..

I have folding mirrors without the button.

Folds from pressing the lock button on key fob for a few seconds.

Not all cars come with the button.

It's a risk. Plan could be voided without clear explanation. Not entirely related to bimmercode but maybe check this thread
I coded all my BMWs including my wife's cars over the years, they can't pick up anything. This is not a ecu flash is merely a parameter change, "1" for feature on "0" for feature off.( In most cases). My m340i even had the speedo show 330km/h and the foreman didn't even pick it up on a test drive with me in the car.

Reviving this thread - I am thinking of getting an ELM327. Would it work with Bimmercode / link?

I saw Morribiscuit mentioned it can be temperamental. I have a mate who can lend me his ELM327 device but he is unsure if Bimmercode / link will work on it

Don't use it those ELM 327s are slow and I had a friend who locked up his i drive system, we took the car to BMW and they sorted it out, came with a warning and the usual threat of motorplan nonsense.

See adaptors below

I came across this on Friday. I have a 2007 e90. I cant seem to find any them except for the Vlinker one here in SA (takealot). I saw on the wbsite it says the support if for 2008+.. not too sure if that means I will need to use an enet cable + adaptor or if I should just park this idea about OBD scanners

any one of the listed adapters in the link I posted will work those are all tried and tested by bimmercode, Enet cable for the best experience
