Newbie and Future BMW Owner

Hey guys, thought I'd introduce myself as I am a new member. The name is Trevan, and I've been reading through the forum for some time, been super useful and insightful, and all round great forum to be a member of.

About my garage - 2 x non-BMW's unfortunately, but I will be (hopefully) a BMW owner in the very near future - looking to take the next step soon, either e82 or e92 for a little fun.

2019 Audi A3 30 TFSI - Currently Piloted by the Mrs and used for road trips.

Mods:

• Audi Valve caps
• Little Joe Air Freshener

There are some well priced M4s for around 650k ..mileage under 50k. Would rather opt for these over an E92.

What's your price range for the prospective purchase?

There are a few VAG fans on this group as well, so you are in good company.

Regarding your A3, if it is not a manual, it goes without saying that the S Tronic (DSG), the dry clutch DQ200, is a weak point on these cars. Worth weighing up the pros/cons of rather keeping the more reliable Fiesta and letting the A3 go.

I agree that the Audi with S-tronic should be looked at to swop if it has the weaker DQ200 box. Either stable in F series or E series will be a good entry...dependent on your use case...you got a world of choices with the BMW range. but the e-series still has that heavier steering, much more drivers car feel, more raw.

Man I'd love an M4 but that's a bit out of my budget right now, looking to spend sub R250k for a clean E82/E92 either 120d, 1/325i, maybe 1/335i - which from what I've seen is not impossible. Also not rushing, will wait to find something worthwhile.

Thanks for the heads up RE: DQ200 box, will keep an eye on that. The car is on an extended Audi freeway plan, will make sure it gets looked at.

Yea man I've been waiting for this for a long time. I've done the responsible thing and gone with cheaper cars (first car was a Ford Figo 😄) with low mileage but now I'm in a position to get my hands on a beemer. Can't wait 😁
