Can the JHB guys please advise which dyno is the most "reliable" that side? Would like to get a baseline on the car before tuning.

And as a side note, anyone interested in doing some friendly runs on a private track? I'll probably be in JHB around the end of the month to collect the car. Please PM if anyone is keen 🙏

Yes bud, take the car to Xcede Performance in Linbro Park. a little bit of a drive that way but worth it, the dyno does not over read and is proper stingy...many okes trust that one.

Shot man, I did see the Motronix stickers on the same cars with their branding. Cool, I need to know this since the AMG bug is starting thanks to you :)
I recommend Sumesh Gariba from SG Autoworx. He's been pleasant to deal with and calls regularly to keep me updated.

Update 9:

For some peace of mind, I decided to send the car up to JHB to get checked out. As per numerous recommendations, I went with Sumesh Gariba from SG Autoworx in Randburg. I asked Sumesh to go through the whole car and give me a report on what needed to be done to ensure the car was in 100% running order. Needless to say, I got a big bill in return. 🙃

Full breakdown of mechanical work carried out at SG Autoworx:

- Camshaft Adjuster Recondition (OEM)
- Engine Mounts Replaced (Aftermarket)
- Gearbox Mountings Replaced (Aftermarket)
- Engine Oil Changed (OEM 5W-40 Oil)
- Oil Filter Replaced (OEM)
- Spark Plugs Replaced (OEM)
- Gearbox Oil Changed (OEM)
- Gearbox Filter Replaced (OEM)
- Gearbox Gasket Replaced (OEM)
- Overflow Pipe Replaced (OEM)
- Sump and Valve Body Bolts Replaced (OEM)
- Seal Ring Replaced (OEM)
- Tappet Cover Gasket Replaced (OEM)
- Spark Plug Gasket Replaced (OEM)
- Front Case Gasket Replaced (OEM)
- Exhaust Manifold Gasket Replaced (OEM)
- Rear Brake Pads Replaced (Aftermarket)
- Oil Cooler Thread Repair and Sump Plug Replaced
- Air Filter Replaced (OEM)
- Dust Filter Replaced (OEM)
- Coolant Flush
- Brake Fluid Flush

Upon completion, the car was logged and all was in running order. Drove the car down from JHB via Bloemfontein to East London and she moved! I managed to open her up nicely just outside JHB and she clocked the speedo with ease. What surprised me the most was the average fuel consumption of ~15l/100km - bearing in mind that I wasn't holding back at all!

In addition to the mechanical work carried out by SG, I got them to replace the following:

- Engine Plaque Replaced (OEM) - old one was faded
- New "Airbox Cover Clips", don't know what the correct term for this part is (OEM) - these clips were missing
