My '10 E90 320d Msport LCI

Hey guys and gals

Been browsing the forum for a while for some tips and hints and the odd car or two I might find here but just recently embarked on the journey of actively searching for what will be my 1st BMW, and man, oh man am I pleased with the outcome!

Having made up my mind that a 320d is what I wanted, I set out and went out on a viewing spree. Long story short, when I arrived at this gentleman's home and saw an E60 M5 as well as two F10 5 series' I knew that this car really had to be something worth considering.
The garage opened and next to one of the F10 5ers I saw what was to become my car.

Took the car for a spin, checked all the paperwork and receipts, etc., and decided this was the one.
What ensued were two grueling days waiting for the payment to reflect into his account (issues with immediate payment forced the use of normal slow-ass EFT process) before I could eventually drive this baby home!

The car has FSH and had 178k km on the clock when I picked it up not too bad considering the condition this thing is in!

So a little update on the 20d

I finally decided to go through with the Software and decat as I have had many people urging me to do this.

I did some research locally and found that most diesel guys choose Mosports Performance aka MPD Tuned to have Software done on their cars so I paid them a visit.
I contacted them and after having all of my questions answered I decided I will go go around and scope the place.
Got there, spoke to the owner (Tariq) and his wife (Tasneem) and decided then and there I'm leaving my car here- I wanna be ge-MPD tuned too

Booked the car in for their recommended Stage 1 file + EGR delete.
I also opted to have the swirl flaps removed as well as doing the decat.

The DP was unfortunately out of my budget range so Tariq recommended we cut open the cat, remove the material and sew it back up again looking all OEM-ish (shout out to the members who recommended Liatros for the sale of my cat).

Long story short, it's been almost a week now after the software was done and wowee!
I noticed quite a big improvement in power delivery, specifically higher in the Rev range as that's where I felt the little 20d lacked something.
The decat didn't change the sound much (I was scared of the car being loud) and I am quite happy about that.
I did notice an increase in "boost sound" as I pull away, so there's a little smile factor there

All in all I am quite impressed. Being my 1st diesel car and also 1st car to have software done to it has been a pleasant experience.
I am yet to see the increase in fuel economy though as whenever I use the car my right foot seems to be a little naughty


Side note: while the e90 was in the shop, I closed the sale on my beloved Nissan Primera 200Sti

Glad to hear the software has changed the driver ability and give you more smiles for your miles haha

Hopefully soon I will be there also, already have the downpipe done so will follow with you and do the egr delete and swirl flap delete with a nice file from a tuner

Please start a thread on this car on the Other Car Fanatics section of this forum. Always been a fan of the 90s Sentra and Sabre 200 STi/GXi. I guess the Primera has the same motor?
Will be keen to see what mods you have
