e88 120i not starting up

Hi guys

my BMW 120i e88 has been standing since September this year. The crank shaft broke resulting in it being parked. Fast forward 2 months later I done a complete engine overhaul. Just started it up this morning and it started up no problem. I let it idle for a while and it seemed to be fine. I then switched it off to put some covers back and tried to start it up again and the car wont start.
Anything we might be missing? Something to take note of?

So i managed to sort out the above issue. I had to change the exhaust Vanos however now the car wont rev past 1500rpm. I have done the terminal trick as well as clearing some errors. This hasnt helped. Anyone know what it could be?

what's the condition of the fuel Pump? I remember My E87 120i having this problem. car went into limp mode and wouldnt pass 1500rpm, lasted a day and then wouldnt start at all, mech changed the fuel pump and issue was sorted and never reoccurred.
however my car didnt have an engine overhaul nor was it ever opened, was a solitary issue and the only issue i had with it.

No issues on the fuel pump.
only clues i have at the moment is timing and maybe a misconnection somewhere?

the valvetronic motor was also an issue on the N46

A replacement would be better, however if it is the Valvetronic motor itd throw out a code, have you had the car scanned?

Yeah its been scanned, no VVT fault… in fact, no faults detected. Really strange.
