Can't get touch-up paint at dealerships?

Hi Guys,

I needed some touch-up paint for a tiny repair and asked the old man to get some for me while he was near a BMW dealership.

The dealer's response:

"We don't sell touch-up paint anymore. Go to an autobody repair shop"

This was BMW Stellenbosch.

Is this a thing? I find it really odd.

Where have you guys been sourcing touch-up paint in recent times?

I'm looking for Alpine White III (The most common colour I'm sure).

Look for Holts paint match pro. Comes in a spray can. I bought it from Midas. Used it to touch up stone chips.

Yes, quite common. Even on other car brands.
