If it needs rings etc. then you could probably look at doing more...to raise compression and do a more aggressive came and possibly ITBs
Personally...if it were my car...id drive it as is and build up an engine on the side....2.7 M20 or even 3.5 and drop that in a a year or 2 with everything needed...
What i will say is have a good think...think about whether youll keep it forever too..
Make up your mind and stick to it...ive destroyed budgets by moving the goal posts either mid build or after its done...

Having done quite abit of amateur research seems it would make more sense to do an engine swap both for value for money and effectiveness. I will find someone in RSA to do it for me if I go ahead but what advice can you give me in terms of NA engine swap, what engine ? Estimated costs well as what would be involved.
Car is intended to be used as a daily mainly

The engine was changed to an M20B20 with a custom exhaust that sounds phenomenal, however I do find the power of the M20B20 a little lacking. I would like to add some more punch and have been advised to consider a UniQ or Dicktator. I need something relatively simple as mentioned before there is a lack of mechs I can trust with this job here in Malawi so plug n play is the easiest way forward.
