Where can I do this and how much does it cost?
My car is nearly on 200.000km, the gearbox has never be serviced.

Get the gearbox checked by ZF Africa.
Otherwise if you want to come visit me I can check the box adaption values for u

I'm not sure if I'm perhaps imagining things but after the DP was fitted, the gears feels like it changes quicker lol

Might not be possible to do the gearbox service then, after a certain point they recommended you do not change the oil as it can cause issues and that you wait unti the gearbox needs to be refurbished... but best to get it checked still.
Perhaps it's been doing highway mileage and not a lot of wear and tear on the gearbox.

Yes I've heard the same, not to replace it because it might cause issues, there are sometimes when I feel a kick when it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear but then it's smooth changing after that, oh and it's only when it's cold, when it's warm it changes smoothly.

If either the pressure in the box is too high(over 250mbar) or the clutch timing is too high(over 30ms) then you wont be able to service the box.

If you take it to ZF they'll first do diagnostics and take an oil sample while you wait. Then they'll explain the diagnostics to you which givea a good idea of the health of the box. Based on that and the oil sample they'll recommend to carry on and service the box or not. Either way you'll know where you stand with the box which is better than not knowing imo.

I'm also looking at the xhp and Danny can help with that. But my first stop would be ZF.

Hmm, interesting... When I got my E90 320d I stopped by Powerflow Randburg as I was in the area to get an idea on what they'd charge me to do a dp, the guy wanted to charge me R7500.

Interesting that you got it for quite a bit less, a far more reasonable price as far as I am concerned. I ended up deciding against the dp as I knew I wasn't going to keep the E90 for too long (it's sold now).

Definitely look at doing some software! Perhaps even consider xhp gearbox software for quicker shifts.

Pricing seems to be very up and down at Powerflow Randburg. A friend of mine had a DP done on his 30d X5 a month or so ago for R8k,but on the 3 other cars that we did with Powerflow they only charged R2500-3000.

I recommended Powerflow to my mate with the X5 based on their pricing and quality of work on my car and ended up looking like a fool in the end.I understand that the X5's DP might be a bit different to the 3 series and maybe be less accessible, but it surely shouldn't cost 3 times more than what I paid on my car with the exact same motor.

Yeah, I already knew what the average going rate for a dp was when I enquired.

The fact that it changes based on their mood or who knows what is really off putting and I'd never use them or consider them again due to this.

Initially I just thought they were just expensive and made a note to avoid them, now it seems its a bit more than just that.

Yeah they not being transparent and the only reason I went with them is because I heard good things about them, not knowing they actually skelm, I won't refer anyone to them.

Hi Fanatics

It's been a while since posting here, just a year since I modified my F30 320D
Modifications Include:
Stage 2 Software
Intercooler Upgrade
Full Exhaust
Drop in K&N Filter

The car has been really loud with the full exhaust, however recently it has lost some of the tone. I got the exhaust system checked and there's no leaks also did some diagnostics and no faults have been picked up. Car has lost some top end power. No white smoke out the back so I don't think it is the turbo or perhaps it's on the way out. Any advice on what could be the problem here?

Doesn't sounds like a stingy dyno to me, best to use the same one as well for the most consistent and comparable results.

Curious as to what the new dyno results will be in comparison. Please do let us know.
Yes those figures sound about right for a 320d with those mods - and that is decent power at the wheels with no turbo mod. I'd be happy

Did you do a dyno after the upgrades?
Yeah I did, it was 159kws and 456nm.

I need to do a new one after the car started lagging
Hey Mohanniel

I did only my DP with a level 1(mild) tune on the dyno at SAC Centurion and got similar kw and higher Nm than you. Who did your upgrades? I paid quite pretty penny to have the DP and software done, but it was good gains and the car barely gives off smoke. I feel mine has more to give, but haven't won the lotto just yet.
Any referrals welcome.

I know with my last service they told me that they cleaned my mass airflow sensor, and that in its own gave me more power. No tuning. I'll take pictures of the dyno runs right after my DP and tune, vs now after the service, and post that.
