Considering the skidpan option. Think the track option is above my skill levels at the moment.😅
Are they instructors etc for beginners on the skidpan ? The only time have done this is at the advanced driving

Would appreciate any feedback from people that have attended before on the experience.

Skidpan works the following way:

They lay out a track in a mirror image, then 2 cars go together, one on either side. You run the course (not very big but really fun) and then return to the lapa road area to swop sides. They run the same layout about an hour to give everyone a few go's then they change the track layout and it all starts over.

So you really do not need an instructor for this.

As for the track driving, they break it up into classes, so if you are a beginner then you will be put in the beginner class and assisted to learn the track if you need help.

People are very understanding at these track days, been to few myself, and even been there just to look and braai and have a day out with the family, both the wife and kids, and the BMWFanatics family as well.

Thinking of attending this as well. Went for a track day last month and it was a lot less intimidating than I thought it would. They had instructors to assist beginners at no extra cost and the pace was quite relaxed for the most part. They just emphasize track etiquette so that you know what to do when faster drivers are approaching.

Been to skidpan twice so far as a complete newbie and I had a blast. Your first time you're bound to spin out and make mistakes but that's what it's for. You can hop in with other drivers there and get tips from them or from the guy who organizes the skidpan but for your first time I'd say just go and have fun. It's not often you get to go balls to the wall with your car
