Thanks again everyone for the comments.

Anile: I see you teasing me with the "best" modded and refering to the "best" trophies. Thx buddy. I gladly accept the "title". :) But my closest rival is also my best friend Revo...so where will it all end:thinker: We are also aware of some beautifully modded 335s/135s in Gauteng and KZN. But this is also the fun part of modding. Everyday there is a new item to add...the never ending chase to be acknowledged. But I also have no allusions that there are faster 335s out there and all we can do is try new things and stay in the game....but also it must be fun otherwise it is not worth it.

Freerider: I will certainly share the results as they happen and I am also impatient to try the bigger sprays. I agree there is always a new line in the review that one has missed out. Its worth a second read:thumbsup:

Ziyaad & Wild BMW: Thanks guys for taking the time to read

Hellas: I have developed a purge rhythm (twice a week) and it is unlikely to have an effect on the paintwork since it is vented into the atmosphere. Sometimes there is a flake of "ice" sitting on the grill at the purge tip but it disappears as soon as it is formed or gets blown off the moment the car moves.

George: Thx. I heard about the NANO system from the owner of the "bimmerboost" forum. There is exciting developments in the performance field for our beemers which does not belong to the world of the exclusive anymore. We can all access and enjoy it now. I will keep you updated on the performance of the system.

Sankekur: Thx for the very nice feedback. My tuner told me this afternoon that he had to correlate the ramp tune of the Maximiser controler with the JB3 tune as well as the CMGS meth controller to ensure they are in sync and that adequate fuel is available. When we start running bigger jets the requirement for perfect fuel ratios will be paramount and we will have to see if our current piggyback tune can support this.
I also agree with you that the Nano system is going to be (one) of the ultimate safety nets in regulating the inconsistencies of cylinder pressures & temperatures as well as getting all the performance out of a single Nitrous bottle. We are off to a good start, though.:excited:

Thx Matt. We are lucky to have some great tuners around. Nano also sells an entire nitrous kit and not just the regulator . Worth a browse. I like the fact that we are all bringing new technology into the country and that we are prepared to experiment and learn. We will have the upgraded turbos for the 335 in the country by Dec and we will follow Georges Smooth's build on the turbos with interest and excitement. My turbos should arrive at the same time... Going to be a good 2011. VAC motorsport has done some cylinderhead conversions for the 335 as well but i am not sure i want to go that far. Have to keep some money for that new monster M5 when it arrives next year.

Twins what I ment is , that alot of guys buy everything for their cars and just slap it on .
You have chosen very good quality mods and built a truly amazing car .
So some guys may have more mods but more is not always "best".
Your car deserves a speed and sound feature I think

Thanks, It would be pretty cool if you could get one controller to do the meth, NOS and engine management (you did mention the possibility of something like this in the original post if I am not mistaken), but would have to be a very good controller to be able to everything as good as or better than the others on their own.
I am really looking forward to the gains you will be getting in the future.

Oh and did I mention I love the look of the big red button on the centre console :) (with NOS you just have to have a big reg button)

WOW! OMG :dropjaw: There are no words that would suffice. You guys are real FANATICS. Thanks for all the effort that was put into this thread. Twins the last time I was in Jezi when you went up against Matt and your car was flippin quick. Wetting my pants is not enough, this is more like loosing a nut, maybe 2  I really look forward to Twinz VS. Jezi part 2. Definitely more than worthy of a SNS write-up. Respect Sir Charles.

Decided to post here to bump this thread because its awesome

Im just wondering how the nano can work?
does it not just fill the nos bottle with air... or will it sit in the bottom of the bottle till all the nos id pushed out the top?
if this is how it works what happens when the nos is out... how will the nos controller know if the pressure is still high but no nos is left?

Thx Moranor for the bump.:thumb:

Firstly, I dont claim to be an expert on N20. I do have a very competent tuner and installer. So I learn something new everyday. Having the N20 system has been a great experience for me and the car can be mild when I want her to be or wild as hell. I have not had a single issue since the install. I play hard but also very safe. When activating N20, I make sure I have racefuel & meth providing the fuel for all that power - dont take chances on this.

The Nano system is brand new technology for me and my tuner. We were initially nervous to deal with a 4500psi pressure bottle in the boot. and to find a place that can refill it for us. A special adapter (to connect to the valve of the Nano bottle) had to be made and to connect to the nitrogen hardware of the supplier. There are only certain selected outlets such as Scuba Diving shops in Cape Town than can supply Nitrogen or the high pressure air for the NANO bottle.

Then we had to figure out how exactly it works in practical terms. The first few road & dyno runs were trial & error.

1. You fill the Nano to 4500psi
2. Fill the N20 bottle in the range of 900 - 1000psi
3. Connect the Nano bottle to the N20 bottle and you can immdiately see how the (nitrogen or high pressure air) in the Nano bottle drives the N20 bottle pressure up to the desired preset static rate of 1,050psi and maintains the pressure at that.
4. When you activate the N20 via the in-cabin switch during a run the Nano system produces constant flow of N20 at all times. When you deactivate the N20 via the switch again, the Nano system keeps the pressure where it was at that point. There is no drop or fluctuation of the N20 like with a bottle heater.
5. As you use more N20; the N20 bottle becomes less and less and so does the Nano bottle air but the pressure in the N20 bottle remains the same in that sweet spot of 800 - 900 - 1000psi
5. The Nano drives all the N20 out, untill the gauge of the nano bottle shows a pressure of 1000psi then i know the N20 bottle is empty. The N20 bottle gauge at that stage will be well below 600psi.

6. When you disconnect the N20 bottle to be refilled, pressure will be released but it is just blue air...its not N20...its been used up. One of the things we had to look out for was to ensure that the Nano system does not push out "that" unleft air into the engine. This you cannot see on the gauges. So I use two guides:
6.1 When the Nano bottle says 1000psi on the Nano bottle gauge I know the N20 bottle is empty.
6.2 If I am REALLY unsure or nervous I just press the purge button (in cabin). And if only air comes out, which i can see from the drivers seat...then I know and can see the bottle is empty.
6.3 Another measurement is when you activate the N20 switch there will be no N20 "kick" or thrust. Performance is drastically reduced.

7. Lastly, the nano system does one more very important thing. When you use a bottle heater, the heater will get the bottle temperature up in a couple of minutes or so. But the bottle temps drop rather quickly after you deactivate the heater switch. But the Nano system turns on instantly and provides the perfect bottle pressure in just seconds; without having to wait for the bottle to be heated to reach desired temperatures. With the nano system there is also no HOT; N20 bottle; which you can feel with your hand. With Nano the N20 bottle feels "cool" or just "normal" or the "same" to the touch. Nano calls it “mass flow technology” to constantly compensate for changes in bottle temperature and pressure. There is no waiting for the bottle pressure to come up, and it works regardless of actual bottle temperature.

8. A side comment: When it is a hot day in the Cape then I dont have to "heat up the bottle" because the Cape sun does it for me.:thumb:

9. PROBLEM: To fill the Nano bottle with high pressure air is about R350 - 500. Its expensive. When you add the expense of filling the N20 bottle (R550 - 700) then power becomes very costly. So I keep the Bottle Heater installed as is but keep it disengaged when the NANO kit is in operation. So nowadays I only use/fill the Nano bottle when I want to seriously race or for special events. On a daily basis the bottle heater works just fine. And I recommend the heater for those that do not track or drag race. Its great and cheaper on a daily basis.

10. I have some feedback on the amazing Maximiser controller as well, but now I am too tired to think.

I hope this feedback is helpful :thinker:

An enthralling read as usual Twinz
Just a question, when that monster twin turbo M5 of your's arrives are you going to be moving the NOS system across? Now that would really be freaking scary
