Hi Guys,

I have heard many a conflicting story surrounding the opening of the gearbox of BMW's as to service them is according to "others" on different Forums unnecessary and can lead to greater problems when you start frigging around with them?

What is the "true" story as I am considering doing my X5 with ZF on this very nice special from them?

Imo, as long as ur oil and box is still sort of new. It be better to change according to zf.

But send to them. They can do free testing to see.

Must say car felt way smoother again and somehow stronger after the oil change.

Just had my M135i gearbox oil service done.
Must say il recomend them anytime, very proffesional and the techie hes name was Tumi explained everything every step of the way.
Place is spotless. Great experience. Thumbs up.

Got mine booked in for Monday. I'm Super excited for the verdict and to see if anything changes. #carguys....my wife just couldn't understand my excitement. :smilebounce:

Mine got done today and it only took a little over an hour, super efficient!
The service from Nico and the team was amazing!
Now Nico has got me thinking about doing the xHP TCU tune

I am interested in their opinion on xhp, what they think of the different stages and the effects on the oil and the longevity.

They all seem to think that it may increase the longevity of the gearbox, given you don't drive like a maniac all the time.
They also think that it's a good idea to do especially if the ECU has been tuned as the parameters are no longer stock.
From a feel point of view, Nico says that the shifts feel a lot faster, and a bit more aggressive.
The xHP tune is still well within the capabilities of the 8HP transmission and they had no real concern to advise against getting it done.

Book it in with them, if they see ther eis a risk they will inform you. It is dependent on the mileage and the condition of the gearbox. They make the boxes, so will have the best advise.

Very proffesional and the guy Tumi that did it is very good and goes into alot of detail.
