Zeemax

Hi Guys,

I have a problem with my 2010 E82 135 N55 DCT car. It has a bearing knock, I took it back to the dealer where I bought the car and the guy told me it could be the crankshaft.

So he says he is going to take the car to Zeemax, does anyone know this place and the workmanship they do over there?
I've done a little research on them and found a couple of negative comments but I understand that a few negative reviews on the net don't make or break a place.

What other place could I take my car to?

Thanks,
Mzi

Unfortunately some members have had less than pleasant experiences with Zeemax.

As stated there are quite a number of reputable places. Southern Suburbs you may have a look at Brilliant Mechanical Workshop and in the Northern Suburbs Garage 808 does top work.

Hi Guys,

So I had my car taken to Brilliant Mechanic Workshop.

Turns out bearing on conrod 1 was damaged. So the motor has to be completely rebuilt, new crankshaft, head and block sent to the engineers and what not. All of which will take quite a long time.:thumbdo::blueCry:

What is your guys' take on rebuild motors?

I'm a little skeptical because those are normally accompanied by subsequent issues like oil leaks motor underperforming and so on.

Having used Brilliant mechanical myself, I find no reason (yet) to doubt their expertise or workmanship. Speak to them about your concerns, and make sure you only take delivery of the vehicle once it's running 100%. Any workshop worth their salt will stand by their work and offer some form of warranty
