Howzit All
I'm sure some of you have seen this M6 convertible in our workshop for the headers and exhaust system build. We have since re-programmed the ECU and our customer seems happy with the end result… so I thought a video would be a good idea... I was not disappointed.
I love the sound of a ///M V10 early in the morning lol..
First video:
Its dawn, a bit misty but the road seems clear enough..next thing before I could press record on the camera - the car is already hammering towards 300km/h very very quickly... and then there's still 7th gear... the speed continues to climb till its off the clock at 330km/h and still going strong... then driver reads to me the speed shown on the 'heads up' display visible only to the driver on the windscreen jet fighter style.. 340km/h... finally reaching 355km/h at 75000rpm ... i check the garmin it shows 326km/h not sure which is the most accurate reading but needless to say it's extremely fast.
(apologies for the poor quality of the video, didn’t have all the right equipment with me, was all arranged very late, was also my first but not last time I did a video like this)
<object width="500" height="405"><param name="movie" value="

" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="500" height="405"></embed></object>
Second video:
We 'cruze' around a bit waiting for the sun to rise and humidity to drop. Then we idle on the side of the road waiting for a gap in the traffic which was not happening. Figure that we have no choice but to overtake traffic. We pull off from the verge and then hammer it, car is feeling strong, as we're hitting 310km/h (on an uphill stretch) traffic is rapidly approaching and there's an oncoming car in the right hand lane...remember this is an M6 convertible, its one heavy 2ton car going at a hectic speed - its not easy to slow down

We needed a 6minute gap between cars to get top speed and we tried a few more runs but the traffic was too much.
THIS CAR CAN STILL GO FASTER, the humidity was high due to the misty conditions and this is not optimal for maximum performance, dont forget also a convertible is approx 250kg heavier than a coupe not to forget the added weight of me as a passenger and the a higher drag co-efficient of the convertible soft top..
So now the big ? is: what next do we do to this car...
What a way to start the day
