Sounds about right for the S54 motor. If it goes past 8000rpm someone has played with your ecu file. It will get logged and bmw will now about it.
Which Z4M you talking about? E85/6 or E89?

Maybe use another tuner? My tuner could raise it to 8200 no probs. But I decided against it. Those newer ecu's can be tricky, speak to Rolf below, they're in Jozi now and can make it work for you.

Apologies The new Z4M replacement aka Z4 sdrive35i with the N54B30 twin turbo motor
