Ok, so something that has bothered me since I got the Z4M 7 years ago... is the rather messy looking fix that was done to the navigation screen. They used some glue of sorts that really does not look cool...

On account of the fairly successful steering wheel trim job, I am thinking of following this useful youtube video to take out the screen, clean it properly, and then using the same flat black spray on it to hopefully make it look decent again!

Before pics to follow...

... and hopefully some decent and successful after pics to follow that!

Wish me luck!

Here's the reason for wanting to do this...

Ok, so after wanting to start with the Navigation screen, and somewhat crapping myself, I decided I'll leave that for a weekend where there isn't too much drink/hangover/work.... so will see when I can do it.

In the meantime... my new cupholders arrived which I ordered off eBay from Lithuania...

Took all of 4 weeks to finally arrive, and was about a R800 or 33% saving as compared to getting them locally from the dealers.

This is the before pic... where the cup holder could no longer stay close or grip a drink...

There are two screws to loosen... one hidden behind the little rubber cover...

The other is noticeable when you open the cupholder a bit.

Once you have loosened bother of these... you can gently pull out the cupholder and vent assembly.

Be careful with the clips which you screw into. These can do a disappearing act if not careful!

Once you have the assembly out, you need a Torx T20 to undo the cupholder from the vent section, and then they slide apart.

Before you can slide them apart, you need to slide off the front of the cup holder. It simply slides out of place. It is not fastened or glued.

Now you can reassemble and reattach the new cupholder part.... simple!

And then replace it back in the car - remembering to be careful with the clips!!

And voila! Done! As good as new! Now I can finally put my Serious Cappuccino's there....

Now on to the left!
