Z4 Silver Wing Mirrors

So... I'm a total Noob when it comes to BMW, thus please excuse me if this is a totally dumb question:

Does the silver wing mirrors on my Z4 (35is) mean anything special?

I come from 10 years with Audi, and on an Audi only the S / RS cars are fitted with silver / aluminium wing mirrors to signify that they're "a little bit special" - The wing mirrors are a nod to their historical racing colours.

:dunnoanymore: special order maybe (just a beeeeg extra cost) - but nope not that I personally know of.

For what it's worth - These seem to be specific to the 35is designation.

The silver wing mirrors on the 35is does mean it’s “special”.

Most M-performance cars (i.e M1/235i, M1/240i etc) have these silver mirror caps.

The 35is isn’t an M-performance car per se (not badged that way at least), but no doubt it is special and insanely capable, as is any other M-performance car.
