I struggle to let go of a car after spending money on it. Which probably explains why I'm stuck with a car that's worth R80 at best but has cost me R180 in the last two years with probably another R60 to go this year. :hammerhead:

The Z in my case has really been the cheaper car to keep but I'd sooner let that go than lose money on a sale without enjoying the fruits of the labour. (More importantly, take a risk on another unknown when I've seen the insides of my now known).

Job well done Peter, too bad the owner won't enjoy the fruits of your hard labour.

So many people on this forum do this, why sell the car after spending so much repairing it? I don't get that logic, why do people do that?

Maybe initial plan was just to get car sorted and then flog it, then the underlying issues were discovered and the owner had to sort it to sell in good conscience.

Sad either way, but at least the next owner is getting a seriously sorted car!

The plan was to sell the car after the bearings/cams/vanos was done.
Once we discovered what was in the engine the owner decided that he could not sell knowing the can of worms without fully rectifying the issues.

The sale is forced upon him due to his excessive love for food and whoever meets Vojkan will attest to the fact that he no longer fits in the Z cars as he has a shape better suited to an X5
