So it completely slipped my mind but a few days ago when worked on PLC's car i noticed the following:
> whilst bleeding the power steering, His car has a bit more rotation in the steering compared to my Coupe.
> Then i saw that the steering rack on the Roadster has a Yellow/gold tag on it while the Coupe's have a purple tag on them.
So there is a different rack used in each of the Z4's...
after some digging online I got this info from M3Forum.net and it looks like the M Coupe's dont use the CSL Steering rack but a better one...
Ratios of the rack in the E46 family are as follows:
E46 M3: 15.4.1.
M3 CSL: 14.5.1.
Z4M Roadster: 13.7:1.
Z4M Coupe: 12.8:1
Anyways i found it interesting and figured i would share it incase anyone else was wondering.... This is why the M Coupe steering is razor sharp compared to the M3's...
Z4 M Roadster or Coupe, they make good track toys for little money. unless you can afford a 911, then buy the 911 :smilebounce:
