Z4 M Coupe ACS

Honestly not sure what the cause was exactly. Replaced the spark plugs and did an oil change and all has been well since then! I have a feeling one of the plugs wasn't tightened to the correct torque setting as a particular cylinder kept coming up with an error.

Did you manage to resolve the issue below? just wanted to know for future reference what the cause was?

Howzit all

Know there are some engine gurus here so wanted to pick your brains quickly. This evening my Z4M started idling very strangely. The needle bounces when stationary and on acceleration the car stutters somewhat. Now I connected my OBD2 device to the car and there were faults registering around problematic O2 readings, specifically
  • Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean bank1
  • O2 Sensor Signal Stuck Rich bank1 Sensor1
  • O2 Sensor Out of Range During Deceleration bank1 Sensor1

There were also a bunch pending around misfires, but that would make sense considering the above list.

Now I've thought it could be due to rubbish fuel, but she's only done this with 25% tank left and its the same station I always use, plus I've only ever filled with 95 octane.

Could this be a simple spark plug / O2 sensor problem, or is it likely to be more serious? I'm worried that driving her will cause damage to the motor so any advice you have would be greatly appreciated!

It's tacky but I've come to like it rather embarrassingly...

The wheelgap/tyres look odd. Lower profiles than OEM?
Stock is:225/45/18 & 255/40/18

Nope it's on the OEM profile. They are runflats however.

Yes it has very slightly. Will get that sorted next time she goes in for a major service.

Few photos from my trip out to Cullinan over this last weekend. Thanks to the GF I ended up having to taking the Z on a dirt road for a bit which wasn't my idea of fun whatsoever. Frustrations aside, after idling along for what seemed like an age ended up having a pretty cool photo opportunity. So life, lemons and all that, here are the photos :)

Looks good... but its time to get that exhaust aligned guy :coolShake:

I did. The okes said that's the best they could do.

Nee man, there must be a better way. Take it to a exhaust builder, they will sort it out.

Ya would just have to find a decent one close to me. From what the okes were saying though looks like it's way more than just tightening a few brackets. Been considering doing a decat of some kind so would do it then if I did.

It is possible that the left outlet is bent somehow, who knows, someone might have stood on it.

I know what you're saying though, these "little" projects seem to always end up a full day's work, if you can find a good guy, who has what you need.

There should be a couple spots in Jozi capable of doing a good job, that wont turn their nose up because its not a full titanium fit up. Viper, TNT...

Speak to Sean, I do believe he is still affiliated with Viper.

Lol, Indeed, it is rather obvious that you have done some dust / gravel road driving, that would of course create an illusion of "brown" paint.
