Hi gents, can anyone point me in the direction of a place in S. A that sells accessories like boot spoiler/lip, side skirts, front splitters etc. for the E89 models. It seems like it is the most un-catered for BMW model? Has anyone perhaps had dealings with Ali-Express. com? Info will be appreciated thank you 🙏🏻

previous e89 owner here - be careful of those wheels that you have on - they are known to crack. I changed them out on mine. Stuff I had on mine were ess tune and H&R springs. Car was very nice - I wasn't expecting much coming from an e92 M3 but was pleasantly surprised.

Great will give them a shout today. Awesome stuff thanks bud.
@osiris Morning bud, maybe you can help me here. My rh front shock is finished? Its an electronic shock with EDC module. Bmwsa don't have and will have to order. Almost R20k for the part alone. Would fitting performance Bilstein's in the front both sides work, and in your experience and opinion will one be able to program the error codes out?

You would need to source an edc delete kit, it's quite common on the e92 M3

Not sure if this applicable to your model but the link below Is the kw edc delete for a z4

Thanks, at least it's a real option that can work.
Get the dealer to pay you out for the replacement shock/labour etc and procure this and a set of coilovers one time. You will have to outlay some cash on your end but then you given your car a suspension refresh on each corner , partially sponsored by the dealer.

Yes, this is going to be a week of many discussions and options between them and myself 🤔Let's see where it goes? Thanks

so I will be honest with you, I hate the stock suspension of the E89. I had the sports suspension that would become stiffer in sports mode like what you have and couldn't stand how floaty the car felt on the stock shocks so I switched over to ISC Coilovers, The E89 was very tricky to get the coilovers dialed in but what I ended up doing to finally get it feeling great was removing the rear coilover spring and replacing them with the stock rear springs mixed with the coilover shock.

The front are perfect. It's just the fact that you are literally almost sitting on the rear wheels in the E89 so the rear was very stiff and would bounce on uneven road surface making it very dangerous at high speed! With the combo I have it feels incredible. The car is way more accurate when turning, it's very direct and it holds corners much better.

I also fixed the E89's disgusting stance where the front sits higher than the back. It looks appaling! I gave the car a bit of a rake, so lower in the front, the ride height is now very similar to the E89 Z4 35is which is I think 15mm lower than the 35i. It's not stupidly low that I have to go sideways over speed bumps and because the coilovers are much less bouncy than the stock suspension so it actually handles speed bumps allot better, I no longer need to crawl over them to try protect the front of the car from smashing down and that is with a front lip fitted.

Mo at ISC will sort you out. shout if you want his details.
Your other option is to go find a second hand front shock from MD house and then get some Lowering springs, I forget the brand but there is a specific brand that suits the Z4 very well. I didn't go that route as I wanted some adjustability in the ride height, generally lowering springs sit to low for my liking, I don't like it when cars sit too low, it just makes it irritating to drive, I initially set my coilovers too low and I hated it lol.

Your car looks fantastic though, and thanks for the info. I never thought of fitting a used shock. This week will see a lot of discussion between the dealer and myself, so will have to see where we end up. You are welcome to send me the number of your contact at ISC. Thanks for the advice and again, your car looks really really good 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻
