Z4 Driver door issue

HI Guys,

I have a Z4 2005 model.

The drivers door was working fine and now it just wouldnt open from the outside or the inside.

The button moves up and down but thats about it.

I even tried to unlock with the key.

Has anyone had this issue before and what is the solution?

I even tried to remove the lock but failed.

Please help!

There's a cable letch thingy that connects the door leaver if remember correctly. I had to connect it properly when I swapped in my red door panels.
Problem is you need to remove the door panel to get to it and with the door unable to open thats gona be a mission.
It could also be the door lock that us jammed.

maybe a panel shop could assist you better?
would love to know how this gets resolved

The doorpad is currently out.

The cable you talking about was opening the button from the inside.

I think its the lock itself thats jammed and theres no way to release it.

I will have to try a panel beater and see.

Just dont understand how it can just stop working.

Hey Dude, did you manage to fix this. It happened to me too. Sometimes the cable can be stretched over time. If the cable is stretched the handles wont "click" when pulled. If the lock is seized then its a different issue. I have a spare bmw oem cable here at home if you need. DM me and can send the part number or you can buy mine
