Hi BMW fanatics, I re-bought my previous Z3 :inlove: after 4 years. Unfortunately, somewhere inbetween owners, the headrest wind deflector and cosmetic roof couver (in down position) got lost. Any help where I might be able to buy? I see there are people around here that knows he value of money and knows that BMW spare can be very expensive, so I'm really looking for bargains.

Hope someone will be able to assist me!

Thanks guys!

B.

Hi B. Glad you got your Z3 back. Well the wind deflector for my Z3 was a near impassable task to get it the S.A. So I went the other option. Make my own. Its made of 8mm plexiglass and cost me about R 850.00.

If you find a place to purchase the cosmetic cover please won't you let me know as well as I am also looking for one ?

By the way when are you going to post pics of your Z3 ?

Hi, thanks a mill for your reply. I am trying to find out if a "friend" can get something in the UK when he comes back, I got the feeling this is an almost impossible task to find it in SA. Aparantly it is also very very expensive if you do find it. Will definately share if I find out anything.

I like your idea! Any chance that you can sell something like that to me?

This is my pride and joy!! Pardon the quality, had to take cell photo's and never get the chance to take proper photo's. Due to jealousy at work, I have to drive my hubbies BMW 328 and only get to admire my Z3 everyday when I go to work or come back from work and sometimes get to drive it on weekends! :argh: How bad is that!?!?

She looks nice. Is it a 2.8 or a 3.0? Parts is not easy to come by on the Z3. I only drive mine on weekends. I was lucky and won the Promotec software remap in a charity draw.

My wife wanted a convertible and she liked the Z3. But after she drove it she said the nose is to long. So I took it on as a project for me.

My baby I got at an auction. It was in a very bad state? I still need the respray and need to redo the interior. I imported all my mods. New Haylo front lights, clear side indicators, White back lights. New M Side grills. Black front grills. Redid my back window. New Clutch. New fuel pump. New suspension, control arms, shocks. Upgraded the car sound. Refurbished the rims.

The wind deflector is easy. Where are you from ? If you like my idea? Depending where you from ? We can trace mine and it can just be cut? There is a place in Bedfordview that did mine. I actually would do a small mod on mine ? But we can better yours

Hi, sorry for not replying sooner, was quit busy lately with nonsense!

ReadyD, your Z3 looks absolutely great after all the work you've done :bravo:

My Z3 is a 2.8 and I'm from Pretoria - north eastern side next to the Roodeplaat Dam.

I am still going to try and get a mesh deflector, but I'll defenately keep you in mind and thanks for the offer.

We have to replace the shocks for now which apparently is very expensive, so I'll have to save for this now. Hopefully you'll have good news for me on that side regarding?!?!

My hubby got hold of a guy in Pretoria North who did our back window. They struggled with the zipper, but now it is in and looks much better than the old one and is doing the job and was not expensive. SilverZ3, if you want to see my Z3's back window, you can let me know!

Have a great day guys!

Hi B I did my shocks, controll arms, controll arm bushings, tie rods and tie rod ends some time last year. That exerisize was R 11 000 or so. I did mine through Autoquip as it took a long time to even find someone that could get the stock. But there is also a place called Koni in Boksburg that can do that for about R 8000.00.

I want to start collecting names of Z3's in the Gauteng area to do a Z3 run some time. Let me know if you will be interested? I have met up with 3 other Z3's already so want to build a database to contact when I think the time is right. Maybe sometime in the Summer ?

Here is a Z REGISTRY of the forum don't forget to put your name on it ?

Beverley speak to Mo from Axis
He's one of the advertisers here in the Forum about your shocks.
Really good service, good prices and he'll have them delivered to your front door.
ReadyD we need to get a hold of her car for some detailing. Make it look as good as new.

Beverley here's Mo's link.
You won't regret it.

Hi,

I replaced my rear shocks with Monroe's, got them from Midas. About R1400 for the set about a year ago. Installed them myself.

Please post pics of your wind deflector.

Cheers
