Yep - had mine split from just normal driving - im not one to abuse my car. So yeah ...rear end is weak.

I did a sterling job in bracing it further though - looked stock when i was done. Pity i dont have photos to show.

Also ... off Z3M topic but still in the same boat ... E46 M3's are known to tear the rear aswell. I'd say MOST of the M3's out there will have cracks if the owners put their car on a hoist and inspected.

Some e36 had diffs tear out of the rear body .....took a bit of hard driving to achieve though :thumbs:

Hectic! Asking cause in the process of buying an M Coupe. So something I need to check on the car im buying!!

not sure how common it is on the Z3 but very common on the e46 for the sub frame to rip out happened on my e46 hard launching is the main cause...

My e36 325i ( old rusty ) has decided .......that the diff and body are no longer friends...will have to get under and see what to do .:cry:
Probabally happened due to abuse.....after being attacked by body rust :roflol:
Shame , best thing is to get another body .

Has anyone had theirs repaired in Durban?

that is freaking bad, unbelievable that a brand like BMW are producing cars
that can even remotely have that happen. :thumbdo:
