z3 M coupe engine specs

Hey guys, as the title asks, what versions of the Mcoupe did we receive in SA.

I heard that only 40 of the S54 Engine (the E46 M3 Engine) were delivered to South Africa.

I ask this because a Red Mcoupe was driving like a luncatic through Bedfordview the other night, sounded just like an S54 engine, that tinny rasp is unmistakable.

I had a run with him and it was embarrassing. I let him have the jump to see if he was really racing, I then put foot, caught him, past him and just kept going. I am not convinced it was an S54 engine.

What other version were there?

If I remember corectly, it was a slightly detuned version of the S54, 236kw, I stand to be corrected

S54 with the ACS exhaust is up to M3 power. S50 is not that much lower powered that you would leave him standing... and he has a weight advantage. Sick or not playing, I would say.

We need to benchmark your M3 Chris, I'm sure it's lots faster than a regular S54 M3. You have the capacity and compression advantage, not to mention the blueprint and lightweight internals
