Xenon vs Halogen headlights

Insurance paid and I got myself a new F30 320i (M) with the following specs:

1. Estoril Blue M Sport
2. 19" rims with mixed tyres
3. PDC
4. Sun roof

I made a mistake and assumed the specs will include Xenons. This is the only boring part. Guess I might have to live with it if there is no inexpensive retrofit.

I stand to be corrected but i think fitting Xenon (OEM) will require a different wiring harness and ECU.

Thus making it CRAZY expensive!

Im sure some of the other guys can shed more "light" on the subject.

Excuse the pun

Yeah the OEM retrofit requires some different module, which is what I found out on my 1er. I think that module goes between the current wiring and the Xenon light unit (i stand to be corrected). The switchgear in the car is also different. So, mad expensive :thumbdo:

Or you could get a set of Osram Night breakers for now :) They make a huge difference compared to the standard globes.

I installed a set of Night breakers in my F30 and honestly I can't see any difference between them and the Phillips Bulbs that the car comes out with. @ R750 for 4 globes I think it is a bit of a money waster.

Night breakers doesn't do much in plastic lenses.
My cousin had it in his previous car wihich had glass lenses and it was good. Got a new car with plastic lense and it sucked.

Also don't even try to install the Autostyle type HID kits.
I see them every night - garish looking and blinding other drivers (Corsa's and VW drivers). BMW will also void your motor plan / warranty if something gets fried.

Hate cheap lights on a premium car to be honest... Live with it till you sell the car or wait for MP to expire and do like RZ4M recommends and import some sexy lights

(There are things which I too am not too happy about on my F30 but o well the next one's around the corner right..)

You can try Phillips diamond vision, it has the bluish effect, without looking over the top at all. I use this on my e90.

Can't you just buy a set of headlights with xenons? I know they're pricey but that seems like the only option.
