xenon problems help please

hi just noticed my drivers side headlight flickering it does this intermitedly and sometimes goes compleatly off for a second or so. It also seems to be a bit dimmer than the passenger side wich is acting normal. anybody got any ideas. worst case scenario whats could this cost me.

Worst case you have a dead bulb, broken ballast, non firing igniter or all of the above. Let me know if it dies and went you have gone to BMW for a quote on a new one:thumb:

i changed the 2 bulbs around found the flickering moved with the bulb. so i would assume its the bulb thats the problem. stealers want R2861 excl. can i get them anywhere else for cheaper or is going to the stealers my only option. spec on the globe is osram d2s h9. will i cause further damage if i drive with it flickering for the weekend.

Make sure you only get osram or philips, the others last 1/10 as long. You can find them online for much cheaper, but you will have to import then. Also try Diesel electric first.

thanks a lot, have managed to source a free one thanks to a friend. came out of another e46 its a philips the original i had was a osram.put it in tonight it's working great. once again thank you for the input
