So i finally got Sherwin to remap the M3. Went to KAR before hand and did 228HP and 267nm at the wheels. Other stock M3's were doing about 221HP or thereabouts so it was inline. Today went to KAR to do an after run. Did 255 HP and 291 nm and it was still making power at 8500 rpm (previous redline was 8000rpm), i am very impressed. On the road the car is totally different. It pulls stronger everywhere in the rev range.

It still wasnt happy on the dyno though. The temperature inside the workshop was about 32 degrees. You can see on the graph that it was pulling timing due to the heat. But a dyno is a tuning tool, nothing more nothing less so the gain is what is important not the final figures. I had a 27HP and 32nm gain. That in my books is impressive going, especially on a car many tuners said that 5kw gain with software only was the max.

Sherwin, owe you bears

P.S Now before anyone here says that 228HP for a stock M3 is low at KAR, thats BS. When i first got my car I dyno'd 258HP there. So to come back and get 228HP 2 years later was a shock. But between the time i dyno'd the 1st time and now, the dyno has been recalibrated. Also 3 other Stock M3's also only dyno'd in the 22xHP range.

Mine is also one of the stronger stock ones (13.8 @ 162 at Tarlton)

sounds right for KAR.

End of last year i got 225.m whp there.

Yeah, I got 222HP there about 4 weeks back!
Drove in traffic for an hour.
Immediately on the rollers & got 221.9HP & 267NM

So, 250+ on KAR is SUPERB going!

ok i am not trying to cause any conflict between Xcede or anyone else. My E46 M3 on KAR not so long ago made
258hp 284nm bone stock, pump fuel. 2 days later with FRC software, octane booster, K&N filter, ice on intake she made 257hp 287nm..... at the vw dyno day on pump fuel she made 256hp...
how do you figure that

Figure what?

Looks like the FRC software made you lose power then u gained some of it back with octane booster then once the octane booster was slowly out your system power started going further down towards the true figure FRC software gave you...
If you dont mind me asking why did u throw in octane booster and use ice when u put your car on the dyno? Are dyno figures that important to you?

cos i normally race with octane booster and ice at the track, wanted to see what power the car makes with it....dyno figure's are not important to me. My car had beat new S4, K04 GTI, V8 M3 the same day she made 256hp. FRC didnt gain power but helped me hold power after another remap on their dyno.

I was there that day so i witnessed the asswhipping handed out to the new S4 and k04 GTI first hand. Very impressive!
Ok Lets compare apples for apples. I think M3_FTW should throw in some octane booster and take ice with to the dyno to see what figures she makes.
Btw what do you mean when you say hold power?

thats enough power for M3_FTW to dish it out. She never use to hold that power to 8400, think 8100 or 2, after new file she did

Like i stated before. My car did 258HP @ KAR stock. The Dyno seems to have been recalibrated because all the current M3's are dynoing between 220 and 230 stock.

I dont care about absolute figures, i care about the gain. My car is now holding power all the way from 7600 to 8500 rpm. It's much quicker on the road now.

Boned i suggest you go run your car now at KAR and see what figures you put down.

Didnt know he sold it.

I did 258HP there stock. When i 1st got my car. I have the graph with dates etc if anyone wants to see it. Thats why i am saying, the dyno was overreading back then. Ask Shane @ Kar to see the last couple of results for stock E46 M3's on his dyno. ALL of them are averaging between 220 and 230HP

look I am not fighting or comparing my X or your car, my car was done after recalibration. I sold the car a few weeks ago. The car will be with me some time in May, the new owner and i have become friends.

We can test if you keen

When you have it let me know. Would be keen to do some runs.
