Yep, that's a good point. If the petrol and diesel are the same price, then go for the diesel. If the V8 petrol is alot cheaper then it starts making sense.
I was in a similar situation with the Discovery. Similar spec/condition diesels were going for anything between R30k to R60k more and then it made sense going the V8 petrol route.
