Anyway, these are 2 very different cars. It depends what you want out of them. As a daily driver the X5 might be better (given the cr@p condition of our roads), but as a weekend toy, the M is going to be superior.

E92 M3, without a hint of hesitation.

I have no need for the extra space in the X5 or 5 series, which brings up the point of personal needs i.e. do you have a family that needs the extra space, what other cars do you have at the moment.

e92 M3.

As much as I love the X5 4.0d, the e92 would most likely always be my choice.

I don't really know the modern cars that well, but I do find my 5 series to be a great daily. It's big, comfy, and relaxing which is what I think a lot of people prefer driving to and from work. That said... if I could, I'll probably go for the M3... 'cos it's an M3 and you don't need more of a reason than that

Thanks guys , I notice that the Fanatics family is indeed a high performance M3 fanatic team . But we've had an M3 E92 previously and many E90 3 series and the M just doesn't do it we feel as a family . Thus rather than getting the weekend toy we think we going to get the BMW X5 as a family car . Do note I'm coming up with the extras list so this things gonna be sporty :rollsmile:

X5 if you have a fandamily. I love driving the X5 for different reason to the MCoupe. I grow a set of horns in the M and cannot relax in it:joy: X5 you can potter around comfortably without glancing down at an M badge that is calling out in a voice that gets louder and louder as the engine warms up "thrash me Semore, thrash me!!"

I have gone against most of the fanatics and I'm sorry as we are taking the X5 4.0d . With a sports pack ,etc ,etc . Will post pictures when it gets delivered . :thumbs:
