x5 3.0si performance

I have a x5 3.0si , and would like to boost its overall performance a bit.
Can a 3.0si motor be turbo charged ? I think this engine is a N52B30.
If not, any other suggestions to increase power ?

The tractor drivers won't get to hear your nice inline 6 petrol either when they fly past you :fencelook:

I've had 2 N52s before. Just enjoy it for what it is. Smooth, great sounding, engines

It's a good bulletproof engine.

Leave it as is...

Chasing more power on a 3.0si is gona leave u with more headaches than anything

Maybe look at branches and a good exhaust, so that you can hear that glorious 6 cyl motor! That is what a motor like that is all about!

I'm with RAArmstrong. Sell it and buy a diesel. Have you driven a diesel X5? At normal cruising speed, you can't really tell it's a diesel?

If you really don't like the sound of a diesel, I'd still sell the 3.0si and buy a V8 if you want better performance. If you're throwing money away trying to mod a 3.0si, you might as well pay for fuel on a V8 instead.

Hi Guys
Thanks for all the feedback - the car is paid off, so exchanging it is not an option now. I like the smoothness, the sound and after all, it is not a slouch.
All the best !

I just say enjoy it. It's paid off! And there are few better sounds than an in-line 6 cylinder at full rev.

Thanks Z4Guy and others - I agree, I will keep it as is.
(I sometimes let the window down a bit to catch that exhaust sound . . . brilliant !)

The 3.0si is indeed not that of a performer. I also would have got the v8 if I knew then what I know now.

However, it does sound good.

Too bad that apart from the motor, the rest of the car is such an unreliable mess though.

Theres not much you can do with a NA engine. An exhaust will give you minimal gains as well. Leave it as is.
