Hi guys
Created a thread for this issue.
Need some advice please. Recently took my F25 X3 2.0d for a diagnostic at BMW and received the following info, shown below.
It seems that the electric fan is at fault and needs replacement. BMW quoted about R16k for the part which is way higher than I expected. I called around to have it looked at other workshops before doing this. I was advised that it may be another component that's causing it to short-circuit which could therefore be the issue and cheaper to fix.
Any ideas how to investigate or resolve this? Or are there cheaper alternatives to the fan (2nd hand or another brand eg Goldwagen)?I have an extended warranty but that only covers the cost up to R6500 based on the repair or replacement being done at BMW.
The faulty fan was causing the vehicle to feel very sluggish, and also affected the aircon.
Thanks.
