X1 tyres

So I need to change all 4 of my tyres on my f48 xdrive 20d: hankook ventus(225 50 R18) run flats.

I'd like to try non run flats. Would changing them to a non star rated tyre have any adverse effects? And perhaps going to a 235 50 R18?

No bud shouldn't have any effects since you are changing all 4 at the same time.

Regarding the tyre width plug your wheel specs into the below and see what it says:

Consider the Nexen Nfera range from Mintys. Good tyres for the price.

yeah, a tyre shop told me that changing from 225 to 235 could cause gearbox issues, but didn't really make sense to me. So, I think I will go for it unless anyone has an opinion to the contrary?

If the car has xdrive, then you need to ensure that the tyres are within spec. 1% ratio difference is acceptable. If its 2% out, it can lead to gearbox / diff issues correct

As long as you replace all four at the same time and they are all the same size, you won't have issues.

This is if one is changing 1 or 2 tyres or if you have a staggered set up right? Not if changing all 4 in a square set up?

F48's and Mini Countryman's cant take wider than 225, so make sure you stick to that width and the recommended profile.

I could be wrong, but i assume its simply the design of the car.
you wont be able to turn full lock, i think the tires will rub the arches.

Thats why the biggest size you get on an F48/f60 Countryman is 225/45/19
