Hi, been a while since my last post.

I have a small itch like some of us have sometimes and is not sure what I'm going to do about it at this stage.

I have a Superbike, YZF R1 that I almost never use. Also have a small run about for town wich I use to go to my shop every day.

Now, I am realy keen on one of the older Z3's. Thinking of parting with the above and replace these two vehicles with the Z3.

Except for being a two seater, what are these cars like as I never even drove one before.

Chuck your ideas, It's Monday morning I'm strong and fresh!!!:rollsmile:

Thanks

Go test drive the previous version Cooper S (R53), if it's a fun car you're after ...

@ Freerider, was the 2.8 problematic.
@ Msm, I really like the lines on the old Z, will do if I get one to testdrive.

Most road tests commented that the Z3 was not a sharp sports car , you may not like the ride on the pot holed roads . IMHO a well driven e36 328i should win the TLGP .

Both the 2.8 and 3.0 are good, 3.0 looks alot better due to the facelift, all in all they are good solid cars, roofs do stuff around sometimes due to wear an tear.

So most of you think I can rather buy another 330. I do have a 320i and a 330d. Will most likely settle for a 328 or 330i then. was thinking about a 540, but it seems to me that they are much more expensive to maintain.

I had a 328 cabriolet that got stolen. I replaced that with a Z3 3.0, and to be quite honest, I was a bit disappointed - I expected a bit more. Handling was so-so, performance was so-so, and the rear tyres got worn on the inside very quickly, and you cant adjust the camber (easily). IMHO not a very successful attempt at a roadster and a really well bred sport car.

I replaced that with a Z4M and that is quite a bit better. IMHO if you want a 2 seater sports car get a older (E85/86) Z4 coupé or roadster. Or get something different.

@Barkie , get an e39 540i then I have a reason to come to FB with the e34 540i :roflol::roflol: .
The 540i should only be expensive to maintain if you are replacing all the wear and tear parts too soon . Yes petrol.......I can get 14l/100 km in town and I can get 20l/100 km as well , depends on traffic and state of depression ..:roflol::roflol: The V8 sound is an ideal pick-me-up tool !!
The e39 was the best in its class and is still awesome .
The Z3 as I and others commented is a compromise , Will you be happy with that ?

Sorry guys , all you screaming about 540i's , 328i's , 330i's will not be remembered , yes it has the engine and the engineering but the Z3 is something beyond all of that , when you have a Z3 you out of the ordinary boring bland crap . Its something different , very different , something only a few can admire , I vote for the Z3 .
