Worst specced F-Series in history.

Came across this little nightmare and had to share it.
I really didn't know that you needed to spec the basic iDrive system on any F-series car, thought was a given.

Why would one spec a car so badly is beyond me.

I’ve seen a few F20s with this base spec radio. Nothing fishy about it as it is common on 116 cars. I’m surprised to see it on a 120d, but this might have been a fleet car and 120d is the smallest diesel motor you can get here.

Correct.
iDrive wasn't standard on the F20 (lower range models at least) when it was launched in 2011.
It wasn't considered extremely odd spec back then; very few E9x 3 series cars had iDrive.

Yeah i think just when the first versions came out there was an "urban" version which was very very basic iirc

Sport Line for sure too.
We had an 2011 120D Sport Line in the company fleet which didn't have iDrive either. It at least had steering wheel controls though.

I do think that all non SAT NAV E9x and F3x bmw should not have the idrive and should have come like that, cause you dont have the proper Idrive. Just an ipad glue'd to the dash :tiptoe:

There is really no difference in the professional E9x radio and that stupid "idrive" version you get on the F3x except for bigger font. Bit stupid if you asked me.

But have to say that the F3x looks even more stupid without the idrive unit then with the idrive. But hey, taste differs. BMW stopped making proper BMW's since the E46 serious.
