After seeing a few of these on the road, in MSport trim and standard version, I must say BMW have really cocked up with the look of this car. It looks too lean and slim, everything, whereas the F10 looked much more muscular. It's too generic and bland when viewed from the rear 3/4 view, looks like a big Honda. It isn't distinctive enough, and lacks any element that really stands out, it reminds me of the effect that a Toyota Cressida or Camry would create. On the Msport version, it looks like the entire rear of the 1 series MSport has been stretched over the back, it does not even look proportionaly correct, it's too leaned out and at the rear lacks that muscularness of the E60 and F10. On the front end the Msport bumper doesn't work because the grilles overpower the size of bumper and the air dam openings appear too small, then there are those Autostyle horizontal LEDs which appear to be placed or stuck on like an afterthought.

I tried very hard to like this, but the more I see this on the road, it just makes me say - what the hell were they thinking! It can be the most technologically advanced or fast but if looks as conservative as a Corrolla or Camry, I'm sorry to my eyes it appears like a major step backwards. For me this is probably one of the most lazy ass pieces of design work to ever come out of Bavaria.
