Wood vs Silver

I regularly change out trim for piano black... It's a little boring but have done it on two BMW's and have converted matt black to piano black.
The silver is interior colour dependent and the wood is simply IMHO nasty!

Do you have any pics of that piano black? Also where did you get it done, if you don't mind me asking.

I have black interior with silver trim and I really like this combo, however drove in an E90 today with beige interior and silver trim and tbh it just didn't look that appealing to me. The dash is black, trim silver and the rest beige.:nonono: The wood trim would suit it better, but if it were my car I would have wrapped the trim in black instead.

Here's mine on my old E46. Did it myself, but did not come out perfect and took a long while. I want to do in my E90, but would rather just get it sprayed properly by someone this time around.

you can pic up the piano black trim for about R 600 from a scrap yard :)

otherwise I would suggest taking your trim out and having it sprayed... very difficult to get this finish right with rattle cans I have tried...

Black Leather and wood trim for me

The "silver" plastic trim in a E46 makes me I'm driving a piece kitchen equipment or "jap" scrap, maybe because I tapped it and it sounded cheap!Plus at the time I was driving a solid E36 and E46 Dashboard made me think I was in a golf....
Just a personal view.

My car's trim was switched from wood to silver at some point in its life, and I'm glad that's the case. Silver complements the car's athletic characteristics IMO - plus I have grey leather. If I had a beige interior I'd go for the piano black.

The trim in my car is brushed aluminum not plastic and feels pretty solid to me. I'm not aware of any plastic silver trim options in the e46. The carbon and piano black trim might be plastic though.

Sure... I will get Mike to take some photos of my Z4 MCoupe. If you look at you can see it done to my R33 GTR.

We re also doing this to my e39 Touring as we speak.
Cheers

I love brushed aluminium and piano black. But ja, all depends on the interior colour. I like wood too. I suppose I like it all haha!

My E39 has wood trim and it suits very well with the black leather. Wouldn't go spend money to have it replaced. Might replace it if something was offered though.....
