Wkw at the coast

There we go. That is the figures you should be seeing. Healthy M3 there.

Well done.

There is another way to get an e46 M3 into dyno mode, apart from using the switch off and switch on method and/or using the GT1 tool.

This works with all pre 2004 e46 M3's. It is supposed to work with 2004 upwards too.

1. Turn the key to position 2 - do not start the car.
2. Hold down DSC Button for 8-10seconds but no more than 10 seconds.
3. Only DSC Light should come on. (If the ABS or Hand Brake light come on, you have done it incorrectly and you will have to wait 5mins for vehicle to reset, if it is built after 2004.)

4. Press Sports button and start car.

5. You can run car now up to 7900rpm or more, if rev limiter has been increased.

Do you think I should inform the 1st guy that ran my car on his dyno?
He clearly didn't know this procedure... Lol neither did I until today.
He told me that he ran a few other m3's including the V8 M, surely those guys would have wrong readings as well :smashScreen:

you still didn't say where you took it the first time for a dyno so we can stay away from there... on the flipside the second dyno looks like those mobile dynos they use at events, those things are known to give a few free kw... I would strongly suggest Autotrix or ODR or stealth for a baseline...

What's more worrying is how that guy didn't even realize that it makes no sense to make 185 wkw and 540nm of torque for your car. He clearly has no clue about what he's doing. Those figures are in line with how a truck engine is configured

The second results are amazing. Took my car down to Durban in July... ABSOLUTE BEAST!!! WOW!!

Hi Kish, its tuned to race in Tongaat. I phoned autorix on Saturday but they were doing some renovations so they weren't available. ODR actually slipped my mind otherwise would have tried them. Thought as much that the mobile dyno won't be so accurate but atleast I got a ball park figure now give or take a few kw as you said. Atleast I know my car is healthy now, given that last reading what would you think it would read on autorix or ODR dyno? Just your guesstimate :crazylaugh:
I have chatted to the 1st tuner and told him the error of his ways, lol I thought he would call me back for another run..... Guess not

The guy could of at least given you back your money... If you paid for the run of course.

R250 for a dyne run... guys must be desperate these days. Especially when their machine can't give accurate readings. I would have asked for my money back personally.

Glad you got a good healthy dyno run eventually.

Could it be a dyno error?
There was a audi A4 3ltr Tdi, he made 146wkw and 390nm just for reference
Figure is not correct.

Stock e46 csl makes around 210 215wkw at autotrix.saw a few e46s make 185 190wkw stock form..

I had a E46 done and could help...the 2nd figure you did on the mobile dyno and cant be taken as they read in fkw and is abit happy...

The only dyno who is acurate with wkw..is autotrix and rallys dyno..

Our E46 was first tuned by chip logic and only did 218wkw..that was with decat..filters n sw....after we retuned it with cpi..it did 237wkw...im not sure of the torque..but it was kak strong
