Wkw at the coast

Took my e46 m for a dyno run, she made 185 wkw and 540nm of torque.
It's that about the right amount of power from the motor?
Car has flat bed filter and Decat
Durban guys what are your readings?

Think the facelift e46 M3 do those numbers in jhb...jus glanced over at Andy's thread on the white e46 with stock SW.

Torque on the other hand is handsome

540nm of torque? Torque on the S54b32 engine is 365nm.

I don't see how you only get 185wkw but 540nm on the wheels.

I think you need to double check those numbers. 185wkw at the coast is a little weak in my opinion. I've seen stock e46 M3's do over 200wkw at the coast. 185wkw in Johannesburg is normal, but not the coast.

Post up the dyno graph, something not right there.

Agreed... That torque figure is beyond shocking. Power seems off for the coast too

Look like a boosted cars figures....lotsa torque, in fact it looks like a strong diesel car...seen stock cars make as much as 220 wkw at the coast

Could it be a dyno error?
There was a audi A4 3ltr Tdi, he made 146wkw and 390nm just for reference

Post up the graph. Something definitely not right. Physically impossible for your car to have that much torque in its current configuration.

That's the only graph I got, the one I posted above, he did two runs with similar results

Cool, we'll look out for the update

The only way you will get those results is if you changed your wheels and they did not gear the car.

That car should do about 215kw at coast. Think that is a wrong printout as the others suggested.

Ok so I took her to another dyno today, 220wkw and 350nm as per above pic.
I don't think the previous guy knew what he was doing on the dyno and as I said he didn't take her pass 6500 rpm cos she was hitting limiter.
The guy that ran it today told me that you have to put the car into dyno mode so it rev up to max rpm and not 6500 rpm.
How he activated dyno mode was by keeping her in 3RD gear at abt 3000rpm then switch her off whilst still in gear and wheels spinning and ignition back on which allowed her to rev to the max and hence a result I am glad with.
I'm gonna contact the other tuner tomorrow and explain to him the error of his ways.:RedNo:
Lol would have being awesome though if had that kinda torque

My initial printout was not from another vehicle, I was there and this dude got like a 50inch monitor that also displays the results, and they did the run twice to make sure cos I wasn't happy with the1st result.
But I will chat to him tomorrow and explain to him about dyno mode and I maybe I should take my baby there for another run :cartel:

Yep, you're right on the money with 220 wkw, like I said before,I've seem similar figures before good stock power there mate. That's why they are so strong at the coast. :clapper:
