The V8 M3 is a beautiful car and one of the best all round packages available:inlove:. But do you know the 135i coupe has been named the best unfiltered driving car? I saw this quote on one of bmw advertisments, and i feel that years from now, the 135 is going to be one of the iconic cars from the BMW stables.

I think it will be an icon!! For generations to come they won't know what an E30 was ! But will grow up with the e92..

Everything becomes Icons and legends (if it's an M). Especially considering they will be the last v8 Coupe's of M3

I gotta disagree on that statement. Little kids point and stare at a 325iS when it drives passed. They weren't around when they car was released and they weren't around when production ended, but they still find the car fascinating. To the point they even come up and start asking questions.

I am not talking about today, I am talking about when the e92 reaches a E30's age. Little kids point at horses and donkeys as well, but doesn't make it a legend..

Yeah, that is why nobody likes the Bugatti type 35b, because we did't grow up with it, because you would have to be 86 to be born in the same year. Sorry, but I don't understand your reasoning. Sought after cars tend to stay that way, but become more rare as it ages, thus increasing its value. But to be fair, I don't think an e30 325i will be worth much, only select models.

To be honest, it's a beautiful car, especially yours. But a E92 M3 makes me drool. That's just my 2c

I didn't mean simply because they point makes it a legend, but because they wanna know what car it is etc.
Yeah shot just my 2c also. I was also implying what the reaction to the E92 will be like in 20 years time. Can't state it with fact, just assumptions for now. Guess we'll have to revert back to this thread in 20 years time.

Ok,so here's a question. If the E30 M3 HAD been available in SA,would it be as iconic now to South African BMW fans as it is?

I love the growl of the v8 M3 but there was nothing revolutionary about the car in terms of other cars in the market at the time.

The E30 started a trend, the E36 was the first car in its price bracket to offer supercar like performance , in my humble opinion, I would vote the M3 csl and then the 1M ahead of the v8 M3

I will say one thing,my E46 M3 was much more of a head turner and object of pointing than my E90 is.

At least this thread is about the E92 and not the E90.....:fencelook::roflol:

Yeeeeha, lets not start that 335 V M3 now hey.
However, isn't it amazing how the word icon is used when describing a car developed by ///M division and perhaps for that reason they will all be icons of the BMW range.

Disclaimer:335i/d , you're special too ( am I sturring... Am I) lol

Never. Simply because there will not be any running ones left when it reaches the e30's current age.

The idiot dealers are not even able to correct anything wrong atm even with all their latest equipment.
So what will happen to the poor individual that will still be stuck with an e90 in 30 years when all the equipment to diagnose and repair became obsolete? All the people who knew something about them has died or retired by that time.
Your average Joe will not be able to keep this car going.

What! Stop talking silly now.
So as we progress, we forget about the pioneering technology and focus on new ones.

As I said, STS

And your pioneering technology focus is on recycling rather than everlasting so they can sell you a new model in 5 year's time. In short -> money

Simply put - there will be NO future classics. Only the existing ones

if you cant see this, then I am sure you still believe in the toothfairy
