WHY SO LOW.

Hi guys.

just a quick Q, is there anyone else that also has this problem with ground clearance? My car is so :argh: low that is scrapes on every thing.

does anyone else have this problem. My car is still on it's std suspension as far as i know.

depends on which model you drive, my girlfriends 1 series was very low compared to my e90, her car would grind on things even if you went over at an angle where the e90 sailed over it....

well I know thats about right for the touring with the sports pack.

From the pics it looks like it's sitting a bit lower at the rear. Did you ever change tyres, perhaps to ones with a lower profile or lower OD? Even half an inch on OD can make a difference.

There are ways to solve the problem - I'm sure the suspension gurus can perhaps help - you can perhaps increase the ride height by 0.5" by inserting some spacers.

The are some devices that the guys with low ride height cars like Porche install that can lift the car by up to 50mm at a flick of a switch. But very expensive.

Or you can fit tyres with a slightly higher OD.

Or earplugs, so you won't hear the scraping.

Like Cyber said - get some spacers. This is your cheapest option. Around R70 a set.

ride height looks right to me... if there is nothing hanging off the bottom then thats just how it is sorry

is it possible that the wheel base is a bit 2long with regards to the sport pack's lowerd suspension?

so no weight.

My 540's ass is also pretty low. Those springs have seen better days. I need to replace them soon. It's getting damn irritating.

Had to ask a Toureg owner to pull his car out of the driveway on Sunday. So that I can use the entire driveway just to get my car out without breaking the back off.

1) Get rid of the kids (maybe the wife too).
2) Fill the rear seats and boot with helium filled balloons.
