now that I have been paid, the documents are with Santam, but the car is still at my house, maybe go for an absolute wild drive this weekend, not caring if I break anything

Let her go with dignity. RIP.
individj said:go & buy it back for R25k lol
individj said:it would be cheap to repair with secondhand parts. (well not cheap but not too bad)
individj said:no i hear you it just seemed like the car was in good nick & the damage really didn't look that bad.
ChefDJ@TheFanatics said:Ralf you don't need two cars. Save on insurance. Use the cash to settle debt. Let the 7 go. You will never be happy about it again as you were before.

it is/it was in good nick
but market values for a 2000 E38 aren't much more than the R55K region anyway, unless it is something truly special, mine was just plain standard and clean, with minor issues

Being single, and no family around, I am reliant on myself only, and thus if one car goes in for surgery, I DO NEED a standby vehicle, but I am thinking of a an absolute cheepy clapped out VW beetle

That's why you use an UBER if there's really an emergency. A service like this negate's the need for any additional car and all its associated expenses for those unforeseen circumstances in my opinion
