yes it is
but
with frustration

the indicators are flickering at MACH 1
the PDC is intermittendly going solid "Peeeeep" even at speed
the "Check control" keeps warning me of headlight globes that are gone
The bonnet is difficult to open, as it has been pushed slightly out of the straight alignment

so for now, I will connect the trickle charger every second day or third day, just to keep the battery charged, otherwise it is now just a dust collector

Dont know if I should splash water over it, what with all the electric faults, maybe short something out on the front
Dont even feel like washing it anyways

took the car to Action Panelbeaters (Santam approved) to get a digital quote done, had to dust off 2 weeks of dust first to make it look sort-of respectable

Irritating PDC "beeeeep" all the time.........need to find the fuse for this if I decide to drive it again

Sounds about right... Damage to my 5er which was a front bumber and fender liner and some panel beating was nearly 12k

I still have the E39....for now, the logic on this forum made me decide to follow the logical path

Insurance payout R58 000

loss R7 000 over the purchase price paid,
but would probably never be able to sell her for the R60 000 range anyway
so the logic prevailled, and take the write-off value,

It will go on auction, be sold for prob bout 30 to 40k and then fixed.

Or spend the next 3 years being canabalized in a scrapyard.
