Do you really want a cheap supercharger on your 400k+ M3?

Material Cost
Precision machining costs
Reliability costs

Manufacturer margin

Then is SA you need to add duties and profit margin.

In addition you need to deal with a currency which is weak and the final price is multiplied by 8.

R&D is expensive and coupled with a small market, the price will be steep.

+1 on the R&D comment.

SC kits have to be thought out, tried and tested. They arent just slapped together and hope for the best

Its a rip off. Get a factory turbo charged car and let the others sweat for an SC...

To put things in perspective, a bolt on supercharger for the Lumina UTE's costs around 65k, and the market for those is alot larger than the market for supercharged E9x M3s....

G powers SK1 COSTS about £6800 - for an extra 100 bhp,i would say £3k to £3500 is reasonable - the parts are bespoke,i know but dont cost that must to manufacture - they are pricing based on exclusivity and not its actual worth and thats the problem I have with the general pricing

I have to agree somewhat with you it is hard to justify that increase, but it is found in pretty much all aftermarket parts...

even the suspension i sell for the M3 is quite a bit more expensive because of the extra R&D it takes to make an already awesome car into an even better one... but the extra cost is not double on the suspension that is a bit much...

part of the cost is also in the fact that a new intake needs to be developed and provided is it not... along with changes to the belts etc.

vs turbo which uses factory intake and changes the exhaust manifold to create drive.

turbo is the better option for big power and if you think that the 100hp will not be enough and you might want more in future.
