Who's keen on a ZF service?

Had the gearbox service done yesterday. Firstly thanks a mil to ZF and what a pleasant experience. Nice clean area to sit and work from while waiting (took 1.5 hours) but also a very friendly technician in Hardus who worked on my car. He took me through the process and explained to me exactly what he was doing to my car. And the best of all was I got great feedback in that my gearbox is in great shape and should last me a long time still - diagnostics and oil sample was good. I've also committed to serving the box every 40 000km now. Must say...waiting the while diagnostics and oil sample is checked is like waiting in the Dr's rooms to hear if your girl is terminal or if some vit C will renew her and keep her strong hehehehe. Thanks again

LOL I felt the same way waiting on diagnosis, hoping to comeback being within spec.

Any reasoning for this ? Seems excessive imo, especially since ZF recommends a service every 80-100k kms depending on how the vehicle is used.

Based on the condition of the oil that came out my f10 at 120k km, I would wait to do it again probably at 200k km. I even think that maybe too early. I do highway driving mostly.

We plan on running a special again within the next month or so. This will give owners adequate time to get their transmissions checked and ready for the upcoming summer holidays.
