Hi guys
I still have the turbo actuator problem, and I want to send it in to somebody trustworthy to have a look and repair.
When I start my car when its cold, its always right, when its driven warm, I switch it of and start again, its faulty, then the turbo only 'kicks' in at over 3000rpm, causing it to be very heavy on diesel at 120km/h, because there's no power.
I still hear the 'click click click' sound from the actuator every time I unlock the car, or open the door. I felt the little lever at the actuator, when the car is in 'sleep' mode, I can move the lever up and down with my fingers, but when the car is 'awake', the lever makes a sound like its trying to move but it can't.
I read quite a lot on the internet about these N47D20 having actuator linkage problems, but all of them overseas.
I'm def not a mechanic, but it looks to me like the little lever at the actuator try to move, but like its stuck, but when in sleep mode, I can move it freely.
BMW qouted me R23 342 for a new turbo, but my warranty only covers R15 500 on a turbo, but I'm so afraid I have the turbo replaced and the problem is still there.
If I take BMW's part nr on my car's turbo, and Google it, it looks like it a Mistubishi turbo.
Anyone perhaps know a workshop that really knows these cars, and won't just replace the turbo if its not neccesary? Preferably in the Northern Suburbs of Cape town, or Strand area? And if it needs replacing, will do it for around R15k?
Its a 2008 320d, with 88 000km
