Hi, can a fanatic or advertiser on the forum recommend a place or quote me to change the interior trim to gloss black? The car is a E82 and still on M/plan so having heard all the horror stories of BMW canceling for any and all crazy reasons will changing the interior trim be an issue?

BMW does not cancel plans for cosmetic mods, else my plan would be void.

Gloss black trim is tough as it scratches so easily you would not want a second hand set either but OEM new trim is also epensive. My 2c.. Search for the base standard silver trim (non hexagon like yours) and then wrap that?

any body shop can do that for you, specially if they are not busy.

Should be around 1,5 to 2k for the set.

Yes it seems expensive, but its a LOT of work, and you may habe to paint several pieces more then once due to dust.

I recommend investigating the cost of hydrodipping....might be the better option and you could get a carbon look. Gloss black will not look premium.

I wrapped my e39 trim myself, took a while to get it decent, but it came quite great if I don't say so myself.

It's a darkish grey metallic, will get set pics in daytime of I remember tomorrow.

I redid the gear surround, as it wasn't looking good the first time round. Much better now, there were a few bubbles, but the have disappeared after a few days in the sun. Still holding well after a few years, bar a few edges that need to be redone. Can't see when the door is closed though.
