So I just discovered this site: http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/ (I know I'm late to the party) :YesNo:

Which do you think is the ugliest BMW mag style?

For me it's without a doubt Style 38. I think I throw up in my mouth everytime I see it.

Although they aren't mag wheels, so matching that criteria it has to be these:

Yup, the Style 36 was absolutely dreadful. :thumbdo:

And the Style 31 must get a mention as well. They really drag the looks of the car down. Even BMW realised the error of their ways. The last 523i's before the facelift were fitted with Style 48.

I find it hard to pick a loser from the two. The 3-series was more plentiful, so the Style 36 takes the wooden spoon, but it is close.

BTW, amazing website. I never knew that my 5er is fitted with Style 81.

Note that I am definitely not nominating Style 81.

3 spoke is NOT for BMW! Leave the 'samoosa' wheels for Vipers and other obscure products!

I was going to say that any mag, that accumulates brake dust in difficult to reach corners would get my vote, irrespective of style

Somehow, those have always looked like hubcaps and whitewall tyres to me. The illusion goes away with the back wheel in the pic, because of the angle. But it still works on the front wheel. What were they thinking? :skit:

Useless trivia that every fanatic already knows - those are actually vanes to cool the the brakes. The wheels are different on the left and right sides.

The wheels are all actually identical, its just the covers that are different.

It should also be noted the amount of cooling this provides is questionable, especially when compared to a wheel that just has a fairly open face.

Holy crap.. I always thought those were wheel caps. No ways. Hahahahahaha

I must say that taste is very much subjective cos I've always liked them.
