Which brand of fuel do you use...

Well a lot of their petrol is made locally, the whole purpose of sasol is supply petrol locally to bring down the price of imported petrol, but yet they sell it at the same rate and they even vary their price according to the oil price. So I rather not support them seeing as they don't do much for us.

I agree and I think they probably still manufacture petrol from coal and still charge oil based prices...but I cant really blame them. The Assoc. of Nepotism and Cronyism...aka...ANC, needs your taxes to pay for their convoys of black Beemers...so that they can push you off the road :)

Yup that is true, I just prefer not to support them directly. Oh I should also just add that I am not hating, this is just my personal preference :)

:pimp:
I only put Sasol 95 in as well, found that BP makes my car so lazy it feels like a 318 :mmm:
I also tried Shell V power 95, and was really happy with it, but my issue is that here in Pretoria there just aint enough Shell petrol stations around. :dunno:
I had to put in total 93 once when coming from Lichtenburg, cause they didn't have any 95, and my car actually pre-ignited on it.

during the strikes had no choice to put in 93 but first checked with bmw, they say it wont affect the motor unless its an m or 135 or a x6.

I usually fill up with the closet petrol station when the orange fuel light comes on :biglol: But stick to (BP, Engen, Shell, Caltex & never any small dodgy looking stations)

Have tried 93 vs 95 of a few occasions... I get same mileage...

Problem with "testing" different stations is that there are 3 BP's near my house.. & all others (shell, Clatex, Engen, Sasol) Are all far away...

I've been loyal to Shell's 95 V Power, gives me fantastic mileage and performance.

When I took delivery of my car, it had 3/4 of Caltex. I burned through most of it on a 50km drive, with an average speed of less than 100 km/h.

Engen wasn't bad either, gave me similar mileage to the V Power.

I'll try Sasol with my next tank

I once did 20km on about 3/4 of a tank and my average speed was probably not more than 10km/h.......:mmm:......was on the skidpan though

LOL!!!

The numbers are correct, I was there when it happened.
It was all urban driving, you know; stop go and Joburg traffic.

Also I feel the quality of petrol differs between station to station even if they sell the same brand.

Tanks may not be cleaned or cleaned properly or an old garage versus a new garage and so on and so on.

I actually just fill up at one specific SASOL in Ottery in CT, since it is a new station, the only problem is that I have to drive 20km to get there.

True - but so with any other fuel. Using Sasol at least keeps the money
in our country (RSA) instead of it going to an overseas company.

Word from a petro-engineer working at sasol says : Best is Shell then sasol ~engen

I use Shell or Sasol 95. Engen 93 causes occasional misfire(s).

I don't use BP because of Gulf oil spill fiasco...
